In late April, DICE announced that the developer will show the next Battlefield on May 6, where rumors and speculation speak of a return to more old-fashioned warfare. It is now revealed that Nvidia plans to hold an event for selected media on the same date.
The information comes from VR World, which reports that Nvidia behind closed doors will introduce the graphics circuits GP104 and GP106 on 6 May. The former is expected to be used in the Geforce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070, while the latter is likely to be used in models such as the GTX 1060 and GTX 1050.
Previous information indicates, however, that GP106 will be delayed until a later time and that Nvidia in the first wave launches GP104 in two versions, where GP104-400 to be used in Geforce GTX 1080 gets 8 GB GDDR5X memory and GP104-200 for Geforce GTX 1070 is equipped with GDDR5 memory. The duo is expected to replace the Geforce GTX 980 Ti, GTX 980 and GTX 970.
Although in Nvidia’s case it will be an event for carefully selected media, it is likely that the date is not a coincidence, but that the company and Electronic Arts in one way or another make common cause of the new graphics cards and the next Battlefield.
