Those who use processors to encrypt data should be pleased with the fact that each new generation – both CPU and GPU – is doing it faster and faster. The above results clearly show that NVIDIA Turing video cards have a real advantage here, with the 2080 Ti at the top.
The Quadro RTX 4000 looks rather modest against the background of the Radeon VII, especially in terms of hashing. But compared to the previous generation Quadro P4000 card, the new NVIDIA card offers significantly more performance. However, if you are serious about encryption, VII is the best solution for you today.
In a test of financial and economic calculations, the NVIDIA Turing architecture again shows its strength, outperforming the Radeon VII by about 45%. It is worth noting here that VII offers very good performance in double precision computing (FP64), which also allows for financial calculations, but I would bet that those who use GPUs for solving such serious problems prefer specially designed video cards (Instinct, Tesla).
And the test closes this group, in which Radeon VII once again demonstrates its superpower. We all remember very well how AMD tried to position this card as a gaming card. However, it is obvious that it is ideal for solving computational tasks – sometimes even better than NVIDIA cards, and during this review we will have an opportunity to make sure of this.
