Nvidia RTX Super for laptops is on the doorstep

In the time that has passed since Nvidia introduced the graphics architecture Turing in September 2018, the technology has found its way into a number of product families. A new iteration of the architecture for laptops is expected soon, which is confirmed by internal performance data from Nvidia, reports Pcgamesn.

In the product presentation, the new Geforce RTX Super variants are compared with their existing counterparts, where the gains in performance seem to match those of the desktop models. This means an increase of about 15 to 20 percent for the portable RTX Super models. The graph of performance contrasts RTX 2070 Super and RTX 2080 Super with the current lineup.

The model that is not included in the comparison is the Geforce RTX 2080 of a portable nature. The absence can be explained by the fact that the Geforce RTX 2080 performs similarly to the RTX 2070 Super and was therefore excluded from the comparison. The performance comparison includes results with and without DLSS included.

If Nvidia follows its previous trend, Geforce RTX 2070 Super uses the same graphics circuit as regular RTX 2080, ie TU104. Previous data also claim that the Geforce RTX 2080 Super has a higher TDP value than its predecessor’s 150 W, which may to some extent explain the higher performance.

The performance data seems to be part of material distributed to partner manufacturers, which indicates that laptops with the new Geforce RTX Super graphics cards are around the corner. The data shows the combined performance of the games Control, Wolfenstein: Youngblood and Deliver Us The Moon. All games were run at the highest settings in 1080p resolution.

The test was performed on a computer with a tenth generation Intel Core H “Comet Lake” processor with 16 GB of primary memory, where Windows 10 was used as the operating system. At the same time, this confirms that Intel’s portable processors in the Comet Lake family are also imminent.
