Nvidia Titan X “Pascal” 30 percent faster than Geforce GTX 1080

The graphics giant Nvidia surprised with the announcement of the Titan X, which unlike the previous Geforce GTX Titan X is based on the company’s new architecture Pascal with a 16-nanometer technology. Despite the graphics card being launched today, Nvidia has chosen not to send out any test copies to the media, which means that the number of tests is expected to be slim.

Now performance figures in 3DMark Fire Strike find out for the new flag bearer, which does not quite unexpectedly take a real step up from Geforce GTX 1080. In the “Performance” mode, which runs in 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, it is an increase of just over 23 percent , while the result in “Ultra” mode and 4K resolution is 30 percent higher.

Compared to Nvidia’s Geforce GTX 1070, the distance increases even further, where the new Titan X brings home almost 50 percent higher performance in 1080p and as much as 56 percent in 4K resolution. Compared to the GTX 1060, the advantage is 87 percent in the lower resolution and as much as 100 percent in the Ultra mode – a doubling.

Another interesting detail that emerges is that the Nvidia Titan X hits in a significantly higher turbo mode than what the specifications say. Officially is GPU Boost set to 1,531 MHz, but in the synthetic 3DMark test, the clock frequency should go all the way up to 1,800 MHz.

Otherwise, the Titan X comes with 3,584 CUDA cores in the base frequency 1,417 MHz and a 384-bit memory bus with no less than 12 GB GDDR5X at 10,000 MHz, which gives a theoretical bandwidth of 480 GB / s. Like previous flagships under the Titan slogan, the power consumption is specified at 250 W.

Nvidia Titan X will only be sold via Nvidia’s own website at a price of USD 1,200, corresponding to approximately SEK 12,900 including VAT.
