Opera now allows buying Bitcoin and Ethereum in the US

Norwegian internet browser Opera has deployed its functionality offering the possibility of acquiring cryptocurrencies to the United States. Soon in France ?

Opera is arguably the most crypto-friendly browser on the market, behind Brave, however. It now allows its American users to "easily" buy Bitcoin and someEthereum via Apple Pay (on iOS devices) or a credit card (Android).

Charles Hamel, crypto director at Opera software, explained that this integration supports the company's long-term vision to make the blockchain technology "Relevant beyond speculation".

In order to offer buying cryptocurrencies in the USA, Opera software partnered with the American crypto-cutler Wyre.

Note that the Oslo-based firm already offered this functionality in several Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden and Denmark) since February 2019.

It is now planning to deploy it in other regions soon. It remains to find the ideal partners.

Last year, Opera launched a New version of its browser integrating a wallet to store various cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum, Bitcoin and Tron.

Earlier this fall, his Nigerian fintech Opay raised $ 120 million in a Series B financing round.
