IT giant Oracle and the company World Bee Project have announced the development of a blockchain system for tracking honey supplies. The system will be developed on the basis of the Oracle blockchain platform.
It is reported that after the launch of the blockchain system, the BeeMark label will be created, which will ensure that the product with the appropriate label was obtained from reliable and environmentally friendly sources.
It is planned that the system will receive data and monitor environmental factors near the apiaries. Also at the apiary around the world will be installed special monitoring systems for hives that monitor the health of bees.
One of the objectives of the project is to study the causes of the decline in the population of bees around the world in recent years. The extinction of bees can threaten agriculture, since bees are important participants in the process of pollination of plants.
Note that Oracle has already worked with the World Bee Project to create a blockchain system for determining fake honey. Information from suppliers was loaded into the system and helped to ensure that there was no impurities in the honey.
Blockchain is increasingly being used to track supply chains. So, the other day the world’s largest food company Nestle announced the creation of its own blockchain platform to track deliveries of products.
