Poland is looking for parts for BRDM-2 vehicles from 1962

The production of many versions of the BRDM-2 armored reconnaissance vehicles developed in 1962 began in 1963 and lasted another 26 years, in which Poland was also delivered. We know that it is to be replaced by a new light armored reconnaissance carrier, codenamed KLESZCZ, but its qualification tests are still underway.

Contract for parts for BRDM-2 vehicles

Before KLESZCZ enters service, Polish troops will be forced to use the old BRDM-2 and hence the latest procedure under which the 3rd Regional Logistics Base in Krakow is looking for parts for BRDM-2 vehicles. These are to be delivered under the framework contract 202202024 and will include:

Internal combustion engines, their components and accessories, including but not limited to:

• elements of the piston-crank system;
• timing system components and heads;
• fuel supply system components;
• cooling system components;
• air supply and exhaust system components;
• elements of electrical equipment;
• engine lubrication system components;
• heating system elements;
• elements of the air starting system.

Power transmission systems and related components:

• couplings and their components;
• gear boxes, transfer boxes, gear boxes and their components;
• propeller shafts, joints and dust covers, axles, main, intermediate and side gears and their components;

Braking systems and brake control systems, and their components, including, but not limited to:

• servomechanisms and their components;
• brake pumps and their components;
• Brake cables;
• brake cylinders and calipers, and friction elements of the brake system;

Driving and suspension systems and their components, including:

• shock absorbers;
• rockers;
• torsion shafts;
• steering gears, elements of the power steering system and their components;
• track assemblies (caterpillars and their connecting elements, load-bearing, directional and driving wheels, rollers and others.)
• hubs, steering knuckles and their components;
• electrical and lighting installations and their components;
• pneumatic installations and their components;
• special equipment of cars (special systems);
• other vehicle equipment affecting driving safety.
