Razer Kraken headphones would have saved the life of its owner, by deflecting a bullet

According to a user on Reddit, a Razer Kraken headset would have saved his life by deflecting a stray bullet. In the post “Razer saved my life”, you can see the entire sequence and explanation.

The author of the post is an 18-year-old who lives in Torrance, California. A stray bullet went through the glass last Wednesday and bounced off the headset he was wearing at the time. The projectile deflected into a wall before landing on the bed.

The headset in question was the original Razer Kraken. The photos suggest that it punctured the outer material and ricocheted off the metal inside. Enough_Dance_956 writes that they filed a police report and the authorities took the bullet. The caliber seems to be small, probably 22. The post was published on April 1 so, maybe it’s a little joke.

A bullet or a library pit? we may never know

Some commenters say that there is no corresponding hole in the mesh behind the window, but closer inspection shows that it has been bent and warped. Others wonder if a bullet supposedly coming from about 100 meters away could have entered the window at that angle.. It is also noted that if a stray bullet went through glass, it would have passed over the user’s head and not hit the Krakens, given where it entered the headband.

If the incident actually happened it would have been more believable if the author hadn’t waited until April 1st to reveal it on Reddit.. Nevertheless, a Razer rep offered to replace the $79 headset, but Enough_Dance_956 refused, saying he just wanted to thank the company. Which leads us to think that perhaps it is actually a joke.

But hey, it’s up to everyone. Believe or burst, right? For now, we are not going to be doing ballistic tests.. Much less with how expensive the peripherals of that brand are, which, although they have a lot of durability, we doubt that they can stop a bullet. As for the Razer Kraken, I wouldn’t wear it to the shooting range. Just in case.

And what do you think? Did this boy’s Razer Kraken save his life or chamuya?
