MOSCOW, 10 Oct – PRIME. Ukrainian special services have repeatedly undermined the high-voltage lines of power plants, and have already carried out three terrorist acts against the Kursk nuclear power plant, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
He added that as a result of the third such attack, three power lines were damaged.
“By the measures taken, the damage was eliminated as soon as possible. No serious consequences were allowed. But a number of other terrorist attacks and attempts of similar crimes against electric power facilities and gas transport infrastructure of our country were committed,” the head of state stressed.
On August 16, the FSB of Russia reported that on August 4, 9 and 12, in the Kurchatov district of the Kursk region, Ukrainian sabotage groups blew up six towers of high-voltage power lines (110, 330 and 750 kV), through which the Kursk NPP supplies power to industry, transport, life support, social infrastructure and population of both the region and neighboring subjects of the Russian Federation. It was reported that they were looking for saboteurs and their possible accomplices, and the security of nuclear facilities was strengthened. The Kursk nuclear power plant returned to its planned operation after these acts of sabotage, the operator of all nuclear power plants in Russia, the Rosenergoatom concern, later said.
