ROG Thor from ASUS are really top-shelf power supplies

The power supply is definitely one of the most difficult elements in a computer that manufacturers can “ugaming”. One ASUS sticker, however, is enough to give the whole gaming style, which has nothing to do with the possibilities offered by the new ROG Thor power supply family.

As part of it, ASUS will launch two models – ROG Thor 1200W Platinum and ROG Thor 850W Platinum. The power alone indicates that we are dealing here with really solid units, characterized by components and top-shelf finish. No wonder, however – these models are aimed at enthusiasts and the most demanding users. This is indicated by the design itself, which is based on the world-renowned Seasonic Prime series. So there are Japanese capacitors and an advanced cooling system that covers all the temperature-sensitive components of the power supply.

However, when idle, it works noiselessly, thanks to the passive mode in the 135mm fan. Even this testifies to the class of ROG Thor 1200W Platinum and ROG Thor 850W Platinum models, because it is IP5X certified and the Wing-blade design that ASUS uses on its own graphics card coolers. As if that was not enough, ROG Thor will offer managed RGB lighting and even an OLED display for real-time monitoring of energy consumption. The whole is complemented by high-quality modular cabling in a material braid.

The new series is to be available later this month, and the price of the most efficient 1200W model is to reach $ 250.
