Shadowplay Highlights is a service for automatic recording of game sequences

During the night, Nvidia held an event where, among other things, they announced the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti, a more powerful version of the current top model Geforce GTX 1080. However, this was not the only news during the event, but they also unveiled a new service they call Shadowplay Highlights.

The service is integrated directly into the games and runs in the background all the time and automatically saves highlights from the game session. The service detects when something remarkable is happening in the game, such as a long kill streak in a multiplayer match, and automatically saves the clips in the background.

These can then be edited directly in the software and uploaded to, for example, Youtube and Facebook. The user can decide for himself when the service should be active and what types of events should be saved, as well as set restrictions on storage space that may be used. As the service is built into the games, however, support is required directly from the developers for this to work.

The first game title to support Shadowplay Highlights is the upcoming first-person shooter Lawbreakers, but the exact time the service will be launched is not yet known.
