Spotted Nvidia GTX 1660 Super – Photos Confirmed GDDR6

Images of the graphics card in retail packaging showcase Zotac’s graphics, including the super-cool AMP version.

The Nvidia GTX 1660 Super hasn’t been confirmed by the graphics card manufacturer, so it doesn’t officially exist (yet), but this is the first time we’ve gotten data on one of the upcoming graphics cards – actually two versions – from Zotac.

Earlier there were rumors about a new Super variant, as ASUS apparently has at least three different models awaiting their fateful hour (Dual Evo, Phoenix and TUF3)

And now Videocardz is posting many images of the base Amp model Zotac GTX 1660 Super, with boxes indicating the use of fast GDDR6 video memory as previously suggested.

The 1660 Super will use 14Gbps GDDR6 (6GB) memory, offering a significant performance boost over the 8Gbps GDDR5 video memory on the current GTX 1660.

The Amp 1660 Super will use the more powerful Ice Storm 2.0 cooling that the original graphics card will not get (the same applies to the GTX 1660 from Zotac).

The introduction of a new GPU – which is pretty obvious right now since the launch is expected to take place in October – means Nvidia is filling the available segment within the Turing series.

If Nvidia keeps its existing graphics cards, it will offer the 1660, 1660 Super and 1660 Ti, as well as the likely (rumored) GTX 1650 Ti alongside the classic 1650.

Or could Nvidia drop the 1660 Ti, or even the 1660? Because three models in the 1660 series can certainly squeeze into this section of Nvidia graphics cards.

Whatever happens, at first glance, it looks like an uncharacteristic response to AMD’s new entry-level graphics cards that are rumored to be expected later in October.

Here are the best graphics cards of 2019.
