It seems that we will see the longed-for refreshment of the Athlon family, which stands out on the market by the lack of multithreading support. While officially nothing is known about it, AMD has apparently already developed new chips within the Athlon 4000 series, as evidenced by the actual photo and the Athlon Pro 4150GE offering.

On AliExpress, you can still find an Athlon Pro 4150GE processor for sale at $ 118.29. According to the information provided by it, the processor is compatible with socket AM4, offering four cores and four threads with clocks at the level of 3.3 GHz. Its TDP is 35 watts, and the L3 memory deck is 4 MB. The CPU-Z screenshot confirms this.

The problem is, AMD never mentioned the Athlon Gold 4000G series. This one did not appear in any rumors, so the offer to sell the processor is all the more intriguing. However, there are chances that the company is simply preparing to refresh the basic segment, putting, among others, on the Zen 2 architecture in Athlons to compete with the Core i3, which it will throw on the Intel market.
