Finally, the Black Shark 5 series debuted in China, bringing with it as many as three new models – the basic one, the RS and the Pro. Let’s take a closer look at them.
Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro have a lot in common. Both are equipped with 6.67-inch AMOLED panels with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, which guarantees a really smooth image. They are powered by 4650 mAh batteries that support ultra-fast charging with a power of 120 Hz. However, the differences end there.
The basic model in this series is powered by the Snapdragon 870 processor supported by 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of built-in memory. On the front there is a 16 Mpix selfie camera, and on the back – a triple configuration including a 64 Mpix main unit, a 13 Mpix ultra wide angle lens and a 5 Mpix macro.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 system paired with 8, 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of built-in memory is responsible for the performance in Black Shark 5 Pro. The photographic possibilities are also greater, because we have a 108 Mpix main camera here, although the rest of the modules remain unchanged.
As for the Black Shark 5 RS, it is an intermediate model that combines the features of both of the above smartphones. In the case of cameras – the configuration is the same as in the basic model, although the selfie camera has changed. Here it offers a resolution of 20 Mpix. The display details are the same as in the other members of the series, as is the supported charging, but the battery has a slightly lower capacity – 4500 mAh. The biggest change, however, is in the case of the chipset. The Black Shark 5 RS is available in two variants – with the Snapdragon 888 or 888+ system. In both cases, the processor is supported by 8 or 12 GB RAM and 256 GB of built-in memory.
In China, depending on the model and memory variant, the prices are as follows:
