The Foreign Ministry called Biden to account because of the threats against Nord Stream

MOSCOW, 28 Sep — PRIME. US President Joe Biden must answer whether he implemented the threat to “put an end” to the Nord Stream and whether Washington has anything to do with the emergency on the gas pipeline, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

“The declaration of intent was supported by a promise. We must be responsible for our words. Misunderstanding of what is being said does not exempt from responsibility. Europe must know the truth!” she wrote on her Telegram channel, attaching Biden’s speech threatening the pipeline.

Zakharova stressed that the American president is obliged to answer the question of whether the United States of America realized its threat when accidents occurred on three lines of the highway.

On Monday, the operating company Nord Stream 2 AG reported a sharp drop in pressure on the Nord Stream 2 line filled with technical gas. After that, a decrease in pressure was recorded on both threads of the Nord Stream pipeline. The Danish Maritime Authority has issued a warning to ships about a gas leak near the island of Bornholm. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

According to the operator, the destruction inflicted on the infrastructure is unprecedented, and it is currently impossible to estimate the timing of the restoration of the pipelines.

Some experts believe that the United States or Poland may be involved in the incidents. This is due, among other things, to the statements of Joe Biden, who promised in early February to “end the Nord Stream” in the event of an escalation in Ukraine. In addition, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslaw Sikorski, commented on the emergency on the gas pipeline in one of the social networks with the words “Thank you, USA.”
