The LiteWave HUD from BAE Systems is designed to change the work of every pilot

BAE Systems has announced the availability for testing of its unique HUD LiteWave system for consumer and military aircraft cabins. This one is light, small, versatile and easy to install in the cockpits of a wide range of military and civil aircraft, providing a significant level of convenience in use.

After decades, HUDs (Head-Up Display), i.e. systems responsible for displaying the graphical interface directly on the glass, have become lighter, more advanced and even more effective in their sole purpose of displaying information after decades.

Developed by BAE Systems, LiteWave is a 6.8 kg laptop-sized electronics package that can be installed in 20 hours even in cockpits with very limited space. It is said to be 70 percent smaller in both size and weight than comparable devices.

The highlight of this system is a transparent display with a resolution of 1365 x 1024 pixels, which provides a field of view of 30 ° x 20 °, providing the pilot with the most important information such as bearing, altitude and speed in all conditions.
