The miners of the second largest cryptocurrency, ethereum, became a kind of “enemy” of the gaming community, especially after the launch of a new series of Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 graphics cards, which they bought in bulk due to their high performance when mining cryptocurrencies.

However, the company sided with the players at the beginning of the year brought a limitation to these models, which reduced their hash rate for ethereum by about half. This, of course, has met with great opposition from the miners, who are trying to circumvent it in all sorts of ways.

The miners bypassed the restrictions of Nvidia, they turned the RTX 3060 into a “machine” again

As the portal pointed out Tom’s Hardware, one of them is software NBMiner, whose latest version has given miners the opportunity to circumvent Nvidia ‘s limitations to the point that it restores the card’ s extraction performance to 70%, which is about 20% more than the “normal” performance of a card with a limiter.

Developers of this software recommendthat miners use about 68% of the card’s extraction power, as this is the most stable value according to tests.

However, since the launch of the new version of NBMiner, they have appeared on Twitter first results of this software, according to which the RTX 3060 Ti card with a hash rate limiter reached approximately 40.5 MH / s, which is up to 35% improvement compared to the standard “half” hash rate of this card at the level of 30 MH / s (standard hash rate is 60 MH /with).

NBMiner works without problems with Linux and Windows operating systems. Currently, it only supports the ethash algorithm for ethereum, but in the near future it may also receive support for other mining algorithms.

Thanks to this software, the RTX 3060 Ti is again a competitive card for miners, which does not mean much good news for players.

If etherea prices continue to rise, there could be another large redemption of these cards by miners who want to get “as much as possible” from etherea before its transition to the Proof of Stake (PoS) system, which is due to take place early next year. .
