The next-generation iPad Pro screen promises to be a revolution, thanks to OLED from LG Display

Apple seems to have broken a deal with its long-term partner Samsung, according to a report by The Elec. According to the latest reports, the iPad Pro screen will give up the technology of the Korean giant in favor of LG Display, which will provide Apple with its unique OLED screens.

LG Display will provide the next generation iPad Pro screen

Apple in its new iPad Pro wanted OLED panels with a double structure, something that Samsung is not currently developing in its factories. No wonder – these types of panels are more expensive, so they ultimately translate into a lower margin. However, this may lose Samsung when it comes to Apple orders, because this company can now like LG Display and make purchases there.

Choosing dual structure OLED for iPad Pro will give them a longer service life in terms of being competitive in the market. The iPads Pro, which are expected to be mass-produced in 2023/2024, will gain a lot on the more expensive OLED panels. Their brightness is to be twice as large, and the life itself will increase four times.

This is not the end, however, because the new generation iPad Pro screen will most likely also use LTPO TFT technology, thanks to which it will dynamically change the refresh rate in the range from 10 Hz to 120 Hz depending on what is currently displayed. This, in turn, will lead to a significant increase in battery life.
