The number of accredited IT companies in Russia grew sevenfold in 2022

MOSCOW, 24 Oct — PRIME. The number of accredited IT companies in 2022 increased sevenfold, to 28,000, thanks to measures to support the industry, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said during a working meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“This whole set of measures (support for the IT industry – ed.) has led to the fact that the number of accredited companies, you see, has grown seven times, that is, 28 thousand companies in 2022. This suggests that, of course, many , apparently, came out of the shadows, but many were created, because we see that the number of IT specialists has increased – this is 1,700,000,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Despite this, Chernyshenko noted that there is still a shortage of IT specialists in Russia: “we still have about a million more shortages in these areas.”

In mid-October, the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation launched a service at Gosuslugakh to check whether an IT company has state accreditation. It was noted that the new service will help employees of IT companies to understand whether they are eligible for benefits: a deferment from mobilization or an IT mortgage. The service can be used by both individuals and legal entities.

Earlier in October, the Russian government approved new rules for the accreditation of IT companies. According to the document, the RF Ministry of Digital Development had to approve the list of activities in the IT sphere by November 1, and by December 1 – the administrative regulations for granting accreditation. According to the new rules, for state accreditation in the register of IT companies, the organization’s revenue from activities in the field of information technology must be at least 30% of the total revenue.
