The Czech company SatoshiLabs, which produces hardware cryptocurrency wallets, has announced a test launch of the firmware, which will only support bitcoin.
Trezor Model T and Trezor One wallet users can already download the update from the company’s website and install it on their devices. A stable version of the firmware is expected to appear in about a month. The developers noted:
“We have created a special firmware version and wallet design for bitcoin maximalists. Users will be able to enjoy the wallet interface without mentioning the extra altcoins. All wallet functions will continue to work, but only the first cryptocurrency will support devices. ”
In 2018, Coinkite released the Coldcard wallet, which allows you to work exclusively with bitcoin. Later, Shift Cryptosecurity introduced the second-generation BitBox wallet in two versions – with support for altcoins and with support for bitcoin.
Note that last fall SatoshiLabs launched the Trezor Model T cryptocurrency exchange function in hardware wallets.
