Ubisoft has officially entered the blockchain industry through the ULTRA platform

Ubisoft, the developer of video games Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia has officially entered the blockchain industry. The company announced that it has entered into a partnership with Ultra, a blockchain game distribution platform. Ubisoft will work as a block manufacturer on the UOS Ultra testnet, a branched blockchain of EOSIO. The main network is scheduled to be launched live next year.

The Ultra Platform will allow you to easily trade games and other digital assets tradable on the blockchain, leaving immutable property records. Ubisoft has recognized the importance of blockchain technology for the gaming industry and has begun to investigate its applicability.

According to the director of Ubisoft’s blockchain initiative, Nicolas Pouard, the blockchain Ultra offer increases the value that players can get from games:

“Our team at the Strategic Innovation Lab considers it important to support all use cases of blockchain that bring value to players. Ultra offers a solution that does this. In this first period of collaborative testing, we hope to help them bring it to a larger scale and experience the possibilities that blockchain opens for the gaming industry. “

Ubisoft doesn’t want to miss the train

As a block maker on the UOS Ultra network, Ubisoft will authenticate the transactions and be able to contribute to its smooth operation. These transactions also include all transfers and payments in the game.

Other blockchain manufacturers announced by Ultra include the EOS – EOS New York and EOS Rio development communities, as well as the Bitfinex crypto exchange.

Ultra founder and CEO Nicolas Gilot emphasized that the partnership is focused on improving relationships between players and developers.

“Our mission is to revolutionize the gaming industry, putting the power back in the hands of developers and players. We are opening the way to a platform for publishing first-class games and we could not do so without the support of companies like Ubisoft ”,

he said.
