Latest update for Windows 7, despite the end of support

The KB4534310 in fact, it caused a problem with the desktop background: some users, in this case, have reported that by installing the package of updates the wallpaper turns black every time it is configured with Stretch mode (Fill). Reported the first few days ago, in the beginning it seemed that – just the end of the support – Windows 7 was meant to stay with the bug forever for consumer users.

The black screen problem occurs on all editions of Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1: Microsoft immediately recognized the bug, but initially stated that the update would only be provided to organizations that paid to obtain the extended Windows 7 support. The company, for the past few hours, corrected itself by declaring that provide an update to all those who use the versions indicated above.

Windows 7, a temporary fix for the black screen bug

The exact date has not yet been confirmed, but it is probably the next February 11 when the upcoming Patch Tuesday falls. In the meantime, Microsoft has provided guidance for correct the problem temporarily, that is, using the other wallpaper management modes, being careful not to use the Fill mode. Using a wallpaper whose resolution matches the one you are using may be another viable solution.
