The new year has started and with it also the news that tech companies will bring to the market. CES 2020 is now in full swing and you can follow all the news directly from this page on Harware Upgrade. Certainly, however, 2020 is not only Las Vegas but rather the companies seem willing to work to carry out important battles towards security, improving the protection of their users as much as possible. This seems to be the guiding thread that led Microsoft to decide to stop the updates of some important programs that will no longer be supported by the company in this 2020.
With 2020, support for Windows 7 goes first. A fact that will lead users to have to change their habits and therefore to update their PCs or Notebooks to the new Windows 10. Those who cannot do so due to the presence of components that are too obsolete will be obliged to buy new ones, thus allowing Windows 10 to be able to turn and therefore be installed. Windows 7 will therefore be the first victim, but Microsoft is willing to leave other software at home that will certainly not please some users.
Let’s talk for example about the fact that from next January 14, 2020 some operating systems but also house software will no longer be updated. Their support from Microsoft will end and anyone who still has them on PC will be able to continue to use them but as they will be on that date because the Redmond company will no longer update them especially on the security side. What products will no longer be supported?
That’s not all because the company plans to build a second important stop of its programs or some versions of operating systems. In this case indeed from next 13 October 2020 there will be a second blocking session that will be put into practice by Redmond. Here from this second date there will no longer be support for:
As we read on the support page, Microsoft has committed to providing 10 years of technical support for Windows 7 when it was released on October 22, 2009. This 10-year period is now over and the company has stopped supporting Windows 7 so that it can focus on supporting newer technologies and new experiences. Microsoft’s advice is to switch to Windows 10 to avoid that, in case of need, assistance or support is no longer available.
Anyone who continues to use Windows 7 after the end of the support will not clearly terminate the functioning of the PC, but as said this will be more vulnerable to security risks and viruses and will no longer receive software updates from Microsoft, including updates to the safety.
