Xiaomi has returned to the sale of the cheapest smartphone on the Snapdragon 865

Xiaomi last fall announced the world’s cheapest smartphone on the 7-nanometer Snapdragon 865 platform. The model is called differently depending on which translator uses a particular resource. One of the alternative names is Xiaomi Redmi K30S. The start of sales of the simplified flagship was timed to coincide with the 11.11 sale, but after that the smartphone was no longer on sale. More than two months later, the company decided to bring the device back to market.

In China, Redmi K30S is offered in versions with 128 GB and 256 GB of non-volatile memory. The price is $ 390 and $ 430 respectively. In both cases, 8 GB of RAM is installed on board. Power to the components is provided by a 5000 mAh battery with support for 33-watt fast charging.

The smartphone has a triple main camera. A telephoto lens, alas, cannot offer a simplified flagship. The resolution of the optical modules is 64 Mp + 13 Mp + 5 Mp. The camera does not have optical image stabilization, but it boasts support for shooting video in 8K ULTRA HD format at 24/30 FPS. The ability to record 4K videos at up to 60 FPS is also announced.

Another feature of the Xiaomi Redmi K30S is the 144 Hz LCD display. The size is 6.67 inches diagonally, and the resolution corresponds to the Full HD + standard. There is a hole in the upper left corner with a 20MP selfie camera.

The presence of an IPS matrix did not allow installing a biometric sensor under the screen. Therefore, the fingerprint sensor settled on the right end. By the way, the frame in the smartphone is made of aluminum, and the fifth generation Gorilla Glass panels are used on the back and front. No water protection provided.

In the arsenal of the model there is a module for supporting Near Field Communication, stereo speakers, infrared port, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C and support for new generation cellular communications. The software shell is a proprietary MIUI 12 add-on, built on Android 10. There is no output for connecting a headset with a 3.5 mm interface.

Recall that an analogue of the Redmi K30S under the name Xiaomi Mi 10T is officially sold in Russia. At Citylink a modification is available with 8 GB of RAM and a built-in flash module with a capacity of 128 GB. The price is (~ 570 dollars), and for owners of club cards – (~ 535 dollars).
