Adobe will offer to remove Flash Player at the end of 2020

On January 1, 2021, Adobe will remove links to download Flash Player and will stop releasing new versions of the product due to the end of support for the technology. It also became known that at the end of 2020, all users with the installed player will receive a message from the developers with a proposal to remove the plug-in from their computer.

It should be recalled that in 2021 the changes will affect not only the official website of the developers. From January next year, all web resources will block any content that uses Flash technology. For this reason, the company believes that removing download links will shield users from using outdated and unsafe software. In the past, Flash Player has been repeatedly attacked by hackers and other cyber-fraudsters, therefore, the functioning of the plug-in after the end of its support jeopardizes the security of the entire system.

Adobe believes that by the end of 2020, most users will uninstall Flash Player without further prompting, as many modern websites and online services have long abandoned this outdated technology. The date of the end of support for Flash Player was announced back in 2017, after which many companies and resource owners initiated the transition to more modern and convenient development tools.

To completely remove Flash Player components from your PC, we recommend using IObit Uninstaller and Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller or alternative uninstallers.
