150 million Euros for ultra-broadband connectivity in Italy: this is EOLO's commitment

Amounts to 150 million Euros in 3 years the investment plan announced by EOLO SPA these days, money that is aimed at eliminating the Digital Divide in those areas of Italy that are not yet covered by ultra-fast web connections. This way EOLO counts for extend the coverage of its connectivity services to 1,500 other Italian cities, which are added to the slightly more than 6,100 municipalities currently covered.

Luca Spada, founder and president of EOLO SPA, highlights how it is possible in many national areas at the present time receive only a so-called broadband internet connection exemplified in traditional ADSL connections. The future prospect is to make fiber-optic access available to an ever-growing number of customers, but this process will take several years to complete.

It is with this in mind that technology with the FWA network intervenes, capable of bringing ultra-broadband faster and without structural interventions in the incoming wiring in homes and businesses. At the moment the service offered by EOLO allows to have cuts that start from 30Mbit up to 100Mbit but in perspective they can reach up to 1 Gigabit signal. L'EOLO investment on 28 GHz frequencies, able to meet the demand for high speed connection today and tomorrow to move to even more important connectivity cuts such as the 1 Gigabit one, aims precisely at expanding the territorial presence while guaranteeing increasingly broadband internet access .

The step is to remove what can be called the Digital Divide 2.0: no longer make an Internet connection available, but offer one capable of provide adequate bandwidth for the way users now access the network. From consulting a library of streaming movies to videoconferencing, it is clear that bandwidth needs, even at home, are no longer well managed by traditional broadband connections, perhaps capable of reaching download speeds of up to 10 Mbit with very upload bandwidth more contained. Looking ahead in time it is easy to imagine that the bandwidth needs of users and companies will only grow.
