On Audiophilestyle forums, a darkforce boasted about his annual project in April, which was turned into a real product. It now requires testing and feedback from first-hand buyers, which has been going on for several months now. Although there is no mention of its entry into the market, it already attracts attention. No wonder – it is the first audiophile disc in history.
When you look at this as yet unnamed drive for audiophiles, you can immediately see that it differs a lot from traditional M.2 SSDs. Although the format and standard have been kept, and in addition, this equipment uses a 1-TB TLC chip, which in practice offers 333 GB by setting the pSLC (Pseudo SLC) mode. The controller remains a secret, but the creator is said to have collaborated on the project with one of the renowned companies.

In addition to the hardware intended strictly for the disc, on the 8-layer laminate with copper tracks and gold-plated contacts, there are elements to improve the sound quality. We are talking about the Crystek CCHD-957 Femto oscillator, two Audionote Kaisei 220uf capacitors and an additional 5V DC power input. All these additions are intended to improve the overall sound quality, which, according to testers in pSLC mode, sounds more natural and fuller than in TLC.
