This guy developed the “NFC Music Box” himself by first programming and equipping the Raspberry Pi and then putting this mini-computer into an old and working cassette player. There was apparently enough space inside that it even retained the functionality of the original equipment. The inventor himself extended Rasp with an NFC reader (Mifare RC522), which is responsible for reading NFC cards with prints of individual albums made in 3D, and the HiFiBerry DAC2 HD HAT converter.

In practice, turning on music requires the user to insert the NFC card into the player, which, thanks to the NFC module, will read it. The computer will then connect to your home NAS to play a specific song that can be manipulated with physical buttons, thanks to Volumio GPIO Buttons. As the older hardware is left intact, it can act as a cassette player if the NFC sensor is removed.
