A unique hoverbike in the plans of Horizon Aeronautics. If we succeed, our jaws will drop

Horizon Aeronautics decided to try to revolutionize the eVTOL market by opting for a unique hoverbike that rejects their typical multi-rotor approach. Thanks to this, it is impossible to call the fruit of the company’s work an “oversized drone”, because it is significantly different from this type of project.

Thanks to Blainjett’s technology, a unique hoverbike can be created, abandoning the appearance of a drone in favor of … a helicopter

Horizon Aeronautics wants to use its concept to provide a hoverbike in the future for people who need an everyday means of transport to work. At the moment, however, the company only has projects, because it is currently working on a prototype of this flying motorcycle, which looks very similar to a higher-class jet ski. It will probably be a work costing hundreds of thousands of dollars, but we will find out later, because the current plans are to produce a fully functional prototype, 2.74 meters long and 1.2 meters wide, for 1-3 people with a total weight of 380 kg.

We found that when we compared our thrust efficiency and efficiency with duct fans and smaller impellers, we were 2-3 times more efficient with 2-3 times more power density, while still being in the same available space. [Z DVP] The aerodynamic drag in the forward flight has also decreased

It relies on a hybrid-electric drive system and the patented Blainjett DVP (Dynamic Variable Pitch) technology, which really makes it unique. This allows rotorcraft to generate a vectorized thrust and allows higher forward speeds without the need for complex technology. With DVP, instead of tipping the hoverbike forward to generate forward thrust like a helicopter, retracted multi-blade rotors achieve this by varying the pitch of the rotor blades.
