Amazon introduces online installment payment to the world for the first time. In the future, all users will be able to make purchases on Jeff Bezos' e-commerce, obtaining a dilution of the total expenditure in a certain number of convenient installments, all of the same amount and therefore without any type of interest. An important convenience that at the moment has been introduced by the colossus only for a certain number of selected users but that will probably reach everyone in the coming weeks.
An unprecedented event that definitely poses one important stone in the world of online shopping that he had never allowed to buy in this way. Amazon leads the way and first decides to introduce installment payments in his "digital shop". At this moment, not all users will be able to immediately buy products with convenient installments but if you are among the lucky users selected by the giant you will find a wording below the price of the product that will ask you if you want to pay it in installments. At this point the figure of the single installment and the number of fractions of the total cost will be displayed.
Amazon: this is how the installment payment works
As specified on the official page of the Amazon website already online for everyone, even for those who still do not see the installment payment, the new method introduced will be applied exclusively to new products ("Product"; Amazon Warehouse Deals "are excluded) and to new and refurbished certified Amazon devices (" Device "), sold and shipped by Amazon.it, where the option "5 monthly installments from" is available as a payment method on the article detail page.
Not just because:
- This payment method applies to only one eligible Product of each Amazon Product Category or Device Family (as appropriate) present in the cart at the time of purchase. Once you have purchased a Product or Device of a specific Product Category or Family of Devices, it will be possible to purchase an additional Product or Device of the same Category or Family benefiting from the payment in monthly installments only if all the installments of the previous payment plan have been paid. "Amazon Device Family" means each Device Category such as the Tablet Fire or Kindle e-reader category or Amazon Fire TV devices or Alexa-enabled devices (such as, for example, Amazon Echo, Echo Dot and Echo Show) . "Product Category" means each product category such as the "Electronics" or "Information Technology" category.
- To be eligible to use this payment method you must be resident in Italy, your Amazon.it account must have been active for at least a year, you must have a valid credit or debit card associated with your Amazon.it account (not pre-paid and expiring no earlier than 20 days after the due date of the last installment) e you need to present a good payment history on Amazon.it. This payment method is not available where it is not displayed on the item detail page.
These are therefore some details or, better to say, restrictions regarding the new payment method in installments. On the one hand it will be possible to have the payment on a suitable product if you have a good history of payments made previously and above all it is not possible to pay in installments if another installment payment is already active. We also remind you that it will not be possible to use prepaid cards while credit or debit cards can be used available exclusively on the MasterCard, VISA and American Express circuit. Excluding those on the Maestro circuit.
Finally:
- The full price (including VAT) of the eligible item selected in will be charged five equal monthly installments (provided that, if the full price is not equally divisible into five installments, the amount of the last installment may be lower). No interest or financial charges apply to this payment method. However, any interest, financial charges or fees may apply if provided by your credit institution issuing the payment method on which the monthly installments are charged. Any commission relating to the order (such as shipping and / or gift costs) will be due and charged in full as part of the first monthly installment at the time the order is concluded. The applicable VAT will be divided into the five monthly installments.
