Since last December the Ryzen 5 1600 in "AF" version (Amazon), a "particular" processor because although belonging to the first generation it is based on architecture Zen + and is produced at 12 nanometers, like the Ryzen 5 2600. Basically these are very similar processors, with the 2600 slightly faster due to the higher clock frequencies.
Apparently, the Ryzen 5 1600 isn't the only CPU to enjoy this unexpected facelift: the Ryzen 3 1200 has also been renovated with Zen + architecture and 12 nanometers. Otherwise the other specifications do not change: in this case too we have four cores without SMT and a frequency of 3.1 / 3.4 GHz, with a TDP of 65 watts.
The transition from Zen to Zen + allows the new version of the processor to enjoy some improvements on the memory front, therefore the comparison with the original model should see it come out victorious, even if not by much (on YouTube there are already some tests). At the moment the new Ryzen 3 1200 is not yet available in Italy, but abroad it is already traceable at the same price as the original.
To distinguish them, just look at the product ID, YD1200BBAFBOX for the new boxed version and YD1200BBAEBOX for the old one. Together with the processors you will also get the Wraith Stealth heatsink. To conclude, remember that in recent days information has emerged on the possible arrival of new quad-cores based on 7 nanometer Zen 2 architecture called Ryzen 3 3100 and 3300X.
