AMD Ryzen 4000G: 8 cores and Vega GPU confirmed also for desktop PCs

Biostar, a Taiwanese motherboard manufacturer, has inadvertently made available the technical specifications of the AMD Ryzen processors from the 4000G family, models intended for desktop systems and equipped internally with GPUs of the Vega family. These processors are also referred to by the codename of Renoir.

These are the proposals equivalent to the Ryzen 4000 processors for notebook systems that AMD officially presented during the month of March, and which a lot of interest has collected thanks to the combination between a high number of cores and the video card based on Vega architecture. The CPU component is based on Zen architecture 2, the same adopted by AMD for Ryzen 3000 processors for desktop systems now on sale on the market.

AMD Ryzen 4000 processors for notebook systems

Ryzen 4000G desktop processors are available in versions up to 8 cores, with TDP equal to 65 Watt for the G models and 35 Watt for those with the GE suffix.

  • Ryzen 7 4700G: 8 cores, 16 threads; base clock 3.6GHz, boost clock 4.4GHz. TDP 65W, 8 graphics cores.
  • Ryzen 7 PRO 4700G: 8 cores, 16 threads; base clock 3.6GHz, boost clock 4.4GHz. TDP 65W, 8 graphics cores.
  • Ryzen 7 4700GE: 8 cores, 16 threads; base clock 3,1GHz, boost clock 4,3GHz. TDP 35W, 8 graphics cores.
  • Ryzen 5 PRO 4400G: 6 cores, 12 threads; base clock 3,7GHz, boost clock 4,3GHz. TDP 65W, 7 graphics core.
  • Ryzen 5 4400GE: 6 cores, 12 threads; base clock 3,3GHz, boost clock 4,2GHz. TDP 35W, 7 graphics core.
  • Ryzen 3 PRO 4200G: 4 cores, 8 threads; base clock 3,8GHz, boost clock 4,1GHz. TDP 65W, 6 graphics cores.
  • Ryzen 3 4200GE: 4 cores, 8 threads; base clock 3,5GHz, boost clock 4,1GHz. TDP 35W, 6 graphics cores.

From the Biostar leak only some of the processors for desktop systems are available, supported by the PRO versions intended for professional systems but which replicate the same specifications as the versions for the consumer market. The debut of the AMD motherboards with B550 chipset, intended for the mid-range segment of the market and therefore with particularly accessible prices, will take place in the middle of June: it is easy to predict that this could also coincide with the launch of the first Ryzen 4000G CPUs for desktop systems.
