Asus, MSI and Gigabyte adapt product lines for the Geforce Partner Program

In early March, it was reported that Nvidia’s Geforce Partner Program (GPP) could be classified as anti-competitive. The accusations are based on members of the program only being allowed to manufacture graphics cards with Nvidia’s graphics circuits, and in exchange they are offered, among other things, early access to these. Manufacturers outside the program are also said to be downgraded when it comes to allocating circuits.

Several manufacturers currently mark their gaming-related range with special names, where for example Gigabyte and MSI use “Aorus” and “Gaming” respectively. In recent weeks, these companies have begun removing names from products related to AMD Radeon, which is believed to be a result of GPP. Now Videocardz reports that Asus is also joining the crowd.

When it comes to third-party models of graphics cards, Asus is one of the largest players and has, among other things, the Asus Strix and Asus Dual series. According to information, the company will soon introduce the name Arez, which will accompany Asus in the current names and be used for graphics cards with circuits from AMD. It is also written that Arez may replace game-oriented Republic of Gamers.

After talks with Asus, Kitguru announces that the new product series will be equipped with the same cooling solutions as before. The companies that have made name changes have not confirmed whether these are due to Nvidia’s GPP or not.
