BIRD Aerosystems will show a prototype of a new ground defense system

BIRD Aerosystems has announced that it has been selected by the Israeli Ministry of Defense through the Ministry of Defense Research and Development Directorate to demonstrate a prototype of the new defense system. This will protect land forces and valuable assets against various threats and missiles, including anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM).

The aforementioned BIRD company is an Israeli supplier of defense technologies and solutions that protect air, sea and land fleets. The prototype of the new defense system will include a small, innovative radar that will be based on the confirmation and tracking radar used in BIRD’s operationally proven SPREOS system.

A small and lightweight radar will detect and verify the threat, then deploy and direct countermeasures to the system to intercept it. The project is currently at an advanced stage of development and the company is scheduled to conduct a demonstration of its complete defense system in 2022.
