The Seoul metropolitan government will launch the first blockchain-based administrative services in November, according to a report released by blockinpress.
The Blockchain City Seoul initiative was launched in October 2018 by Mayor Park Won-soon. Since then, no concrete plans have been announced until the meeting at the end of July.
At a conference held last month, deadlines and goals were set for implementing blockchain technology in several areas. By November, the completion of three objectives for blockchain-based administrative services is planned
By the end of 2019, the Seoul administration wants to put into operation the rights program for part-time workers. The blockchain-based system will allow temporary employees and employers to sign simple contracts that keep track of their work history. It will also help them register properly for the four major social insurance programs. The aim is to improve the trust and relationships between small companies and part-time workers.
In total, the Blockchain City Seoul initiative includes 14 administrative blockchain projects and is due for completion by 2022. A total of 127.3 billion won (approximately $ 105 million) has been allocated to finance the project.
