Bosch focuses on autonomy, the development of automotive equipment and transport systems

Bosch plays a significant role in providing the materials and technology behind today’s cars. The company’s goal is to play an even greater role in creating autonomous cars. The company has just outlined its plans for an autonomous future.

From ABS and spark plug systems to modern electrical systems, 36-stage sensor sets and on-board computers. Bosch is well positioned to be a significant player in the automotive equipment field. The company has revealed the details of the concept it will be showcasing at CES to showcase its capabilities on these issues.

The concept reveals an electric four-seater with a spacious interior where all passengers are facing each other. Additionally, there are information and entertainment screens along the walls. In addition, the vehicle offers access to Wi-Fi, as well as services such as weather and travel information. Camera systems will alert passengers if they forget their purse or phone. They can distinguish such items from, for example, rubbish.

The Convenience Charging tracks the charging status of vehicles and combines it with weather and traffic data and information on how much energy the on-board systems use. The “pre-books” system will select the most convenient charging station. The Bosch Road Signature will allow cars to determine their position with an accuracy of a few centimeters. A number of other elements, in turn, will focus on the condition of the vehicle and software updates. Bosch predicts that fully autonomous taxi fleets will be put into service “by the middle of the next decade at the latest.”
