Buy shares with bitcoin (BTC) and other crypto coins

Abra’s wallet now also offers support in the Netherlands. That means that with this unique wallet you can trade in US stocks with cryptocurrency.

American customers were already able to do that, but the service has now been extended to the rest of the world. Abra now offers support for 150 different countries, including the Netherlands.

Invest in stocks and ETFs

You don’t have to buy a whole share right away, with Abra it is also possible to buy a piece of a share. With this, Abra makes it easy to invest in companies such as Facebook, Tesla and Uber.

You can also use cryptocurrency to invest in ETFs and indexes. ETF stands for exchange-traded fund. An index such as the S&P 500 describes the average of the five hundred largest US companies.

Abra’s goal is to make this type of financial product available to everyone. Abra himself calls this the “democratization” of access to financial services.

Manage bitcoin and other cryptos

In addition, you can also manage “normal” cryptocurrencys with Abra. Abra offers support for thirty different cryptocurrency and tokens, such as bitcoin (btc), litecoin (ltc), bitcoin cash (bch) and ether (eth). You can save these cryptocurrencies, but you can also use them to invest in shares, ETFs and indexes.

Non-custodial wallet

Abra’s wallet is a so-called non-custodial wallet. That means that you manage your private keys yourself. Your private keys give you access to your coins. This also ensures responsibility at the same time. Have you lost your password? Then you can no longer reach your coins.

But it is safer than saving your coins on a stock exchange. For example, if you have cryptocurrencies on an exchange such as Binance, then you do not manage your crypto currency yourself. Suppose Binance is hacked, then there is a chance that your cryptocurrency’s will be stolen. An exchange can of course also go bankrupt, then you will also lose your coins.
