Anthony Pompliano: I wouldn’t buy XRP or TRX

In an interview with CNN, Anthony Pompliano said he would not buy XRP or TRX. Co-founder Morgan Creek Digital Assets and Off-Chain host believes that these cryptocurrencies do not offer the same value proposition as Bitcoin:

“I wouldn’t buy XRP or TRX, because in the end I don’t think they have the same value as other assets. They are “utility tokens”, meaning they are not really an investment, but they offer better functionality or services on an exchange platform. “

Pompliano explained that the XRP token and Ripple, the software company, are two very different investments. For example, Ripple Labs have assets such as xRapid, xCurrent and XRP, as well as profits, cash flows, investments in Bitso, Moneygram and other securities used for valuation.

On the other hand, XRP has nothing to generate value, other than price speculation.

Pomp went on to say that, apart from Bitcoin, he believes that tokenized securities are the second interesting type of crypto investment. In his opinion, these types of assets have a great potential for the future.

Ripple contributed $ 11 million to MoneyGram

According to SEC documents, Ripple has given MoneyGram over $ 11 million in the last half year. The funds were split between two quarters. $ 2.4 million in the third quarter of 2019 and $ 8.9 million in the fourth quarter.

“MoneyGram has continued to expand its strategic partnership with Ripple as the first money transfer company that has adapted the use of blockchain capabilities,”

this is shown in the press release issued by MoneyGram.

The company has previously disclosed that it uses different Ripple products, such as the xRapid and XRP networks, to facilitate cross-border transfers. Ripple holds more than 10 percent of MoneyGram shares, acquired through investments amounting to $ 50 million.

France and Austria are working together to combat crypto crime

French blockchain security company NIGMA Conseil and the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) have signed a cooperation agreement to combat crypto crime.

The two organizations are working on the e-NIGMA platform, built using AIT GraphSense technology.

The collaboration aims to provide services similar to those offered by CipherTrace, which already offers the monitoring of suspicious transactions with multiple digital assets for exchanges.

The ability to track connections and transactions on the blockchain is an essential part of implementing stricter KYC rules. Many regulatory authorities worldwide are looking for such solutions, especially after adopting FATF recommendations.

The e-Nigma ecosystem will be able to discover the entities behind the crypto wallets and also track suspicious transactions.

The Austrian Institute of Technology already offers advice in the field of general cybersecurity, systems engineering and image analysis and video surveillance systems.
