EEA Mainnet Initiative – interoperability and scalability solutions

The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) has announced the creation of a working group. The role will be to interact with large companies to implement the Ethereum blockchain.

The working group, called the EEA Mainnet Initiative, intends to accelerate and lead cooperation between member companies and start-ups working on Ethereum development. It will also become a point of contact between developers working on network technology and interoperability solutions.

EEA Mainnet Initiative: interoperability and scalability solutions

The Mainnet initiative will seek to improve how the components of the public network meet the requirements of the commercial market to stimulate Ethereum adoption. The EEA will hold interactive discussions at the Ethereum Foundation Developer Conference, Devcon5, in October 2019.

Marley Gray, a member of the EEA board and chief architect at Microsoft technology giant, said the rapid acceleration of technology around the Ethereum network requires increased interoperability and scalability.

A new member of the EEA council

Aya Miyaguchi, the director of the Ethereum Foundation, has been appointed as a new member of the EEA Council.

The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance is a blockchain consortium with over 450 members. This includes, among others, Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase, Santander, Accenture, ING, Intel and Cisco. The goal of the consortium is to promote the use of the Ethereum blockchain as an open standard in large companies.

Earlier this year, the EEA published a report. It describes a number of cases of blockchain use in the real estate industry. The report argued that blockchain is capable of reducing registration and transfer of ownership while increasing transparency.

To date, the Ethereum blockchain is the most popular public blockchain network for building decentralized applications and smart contracts.
