Features, in conjunction with 3070 Ti

The main difference between the two video cards will be the video memory.

The specs of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 have been outlined in a new rumor, which also shares the RTX 3070 Ti and some details on the new Ampere graphics card.

The information comes from kopite7kimi on Twitter, a popular source of hardware information, but as always, we recommend that you be wary of this kind of leaks.

Rumor claims these cards are based on the GA104-400 for the RTX 3070 Ti and the stripped-down GA104-300 for the vanilla RTX 3070.

The GeForce RTX 3070 will receive (at least according to this leak) 2,944 CUDA cores (just like the existing RTX 2080), along with 8GB of GDDR6 video memory.

The 3070 Ti version ups the ante to 3072 CUDA cores (a figure we’ve already seen in early leaks) with the same amount of VRAM, except it’ll be GDDR6X memory to further boost performance.

The latest video card will most likely be released as an update to the model later – as a result, we can not expect Ti at all, but rather a Super variant, as kopite7kimi admits (this is what happened with the RTX series in the 2000 range).

Either way, you have to understand that regardless of the name of the graphics card, it will become a stripped-down version of the RTX 3070. Speaking of the names, we are not even sure if Nvidia will use the RTX 3000 naming scheme. Which is quite expected, despite the recently leaked images supposedly ASUS RTX 3080 Ti.

As we’ve seen, other rumors indicate that Nvidia will offer three different variants of the flagship GA102 GPUs, which promise to be the new Titan, RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3080 cards (at least in theory).

| Pricing step

Aside from the specs, a lot will depend on where Nvidia stops pricing for the next generation Ampere graphics cards, but at the moment, nothing is known about the pricing.

On the positive side for the consumer, Nvidia is struggling to keep up with AMD’s next generation Big Navi, which may require Team Green to slow down on pricing to stay competitive. Early rumors about graphics cards also suggested that prices for Ampere’s flagship models could become more affordable.

On the other hand, in the event of a likely price decrease, we could get Nvidia’s dominant position in the graphics card market, historically the manufacturer has been raising prices for its products – Turing graphics cards were particularly surprising – and the fact that Ampere is turning into a really wise product is a timely move. As always, we just have to wait and watch with our fingers crossed in anticipation of more competitive prices.

These are the best graphics cards of 2020.
