Fedora 32 is available, the news between Linux 5.6 and GNOME 3.36 kernels

The Fedora Project announced the availability of Fedora 32. The new Linux distribution, which will also land on some Lenovo laptops in the future, is based on the Linux 5.6 kernel and includes the desktop environment GNOME 3.36, which offers some important improvements, including a new, more elegant lock screen.

Distribution is available as Fedora Workstation for desktop computers and is aimed in particular at software developers who want a ready-to-use operating system. There are also Fedora 32 Server, dedicated to system administrators and Fedora IoT for the world of the Internet of things. Finally, there is also Fedora CoreOS, a minimal system dedicated to workloads containerized, and the Spins and Labs projects for particular users.

Fedora 32 enables TRIM features by default to improve SSD and EarlyOOM performance, designed to optimize the behavior of the operating system when the available memory is reduced. "In the past, if a system had limited memory available, it triggered high use of the swap file, sometimes leading to slowdowns of the user interface or to blocking for a certain period of time. With EarlyOOM active by default, users can recover and regain control over your system in such situations. " The distro also contains several updated software, such as GCC 10, Ruby 2.7 and Python 3.8. You can download the new version of Fedora from this address.
