WASHINGTON, Sep 24 – PRIME Gasoline prices in the US continue to rise steadily on a daily basis and hit $3.7 a gallon on Sept. 24, according to statistics released on Saturday by the American Automobile Association (AAA).
This value is the average for the entire country, while in a number of states fuel is noticeably more expensive, the association’s calculations show. For example, in California a gallon of gasoline costs $5.682, in Hawaii it costs $5.242, and in Nevada it costs $5.024.
Saturday’s average fuel cost in the US shows a steady increase for the fourth day in a row. According to statistics, prices compensated for the decline throughout September 2022. Prior to this, US gasoline prices had been declining continuously for 99 consecutive days. The all-time high of $5,016 was reached on June 14th.
On Thursday, US President Joe Biden blamed US energy companies for record profits and high retail margins at gas stations, saying the money businesses make “should be in the pockets of the public.”
