In the past 2 months, starting from cancellation of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the world of ICT has registered the progressive cancellation of all public sector events scheduled during 2020. In some cases, 12 months have been postponed to 2021, in others, instead, the alternative formula of online presence has been chosen. replace, at least in part, the physical one at the fair.
The organizers of the GDC, Game Developer Conference, had chosen to postpone the 2020 edition at the beginning of August, hoping that the global pandemic would be definitively under control for that period. So it will not be very likely, and for this reason the organizers have announced they have transformed the 2020 event into a uniquely digital edition. The duration is confirmed in 3 days, starting from 4 August: further information on participation by interested parties will be shared shortly by the organizers.
Microsoft has instead open the recordings for the2020 edition of its conference Build intended for developers. It is a completely free event, therefore those who have already registered in the last few months at the physical edition can request a full refund of the amount anticipated. The schedule provides that the main keynotes will be broadcast at different times, so as to meet the needs of the public present in the various time zones of the world.
The Seattle-based company has already anticipated that throughout 2020, in addition to the first half of 2021, all its Microsoft public events open to partners will be held exclusively in digital form via streaming.
