Gigabyte he announced six new motherboards
based on AMD B550 chipset, five of which belong to the line
Aorus. The basic solution is called B550M DS3H, And a
motherboard micro ATX with two PCI Express x16 slots, but only the first
supports PCIe 4.0 x16, while the latter operates at most in 3.0 x4 mode.
The power supply section formed by 5 + 3 digital phases. There is also one
PCI Express 3.0 slot x1. On the storage front, there are two M.2 slots, but only the
first supports PCIe 4.0 x4 solutions.
The motherboard, in the back, equipped with four USB 3.2 Gen 1, one
DVI-D and an HDMI.
The Aorus range formed by four solutions with form
ATX factor and a mini-ITX. We start from the latter, the B550I Aorus Pro AX, a
model with a VRM with 8 digital phases (90A), a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and two M.2;
there is also a 2.5G Ethernet network port that is added to Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
The other motherboards are called Aorus Pro, Aorus Pro AC,
Aorus Elite and Aorus Master. All models have a 2.5G Ethernetthe
Master offers Wi-Fi 6 while the Pro AC Wi-Fi 5. Pro models are identical
technically speaking (they have a VRM with 12 + 2 phases), they offer a PCIe slot
4.0 x16, one PCIe 3.0 x16 (reached by 4 lines), another slot reached by two
lines that adds up to two PCIe 3.0 x1. There are two M.2 slots, but only the first one can be PCIe
4.0, as managed by the CPU. Both cards have a door USB 3.2
Gen2 Type C in the back.
There B550 Aorus Elite has a VRM with 12 + 2 phases, a PCIe slot
4.0 x16 and two other x16 reached by two lines and a 3.0 line respectively.
There is also a PCIe 3.0 x1. Present two M.2 slots for storage together four
SATA 6 Gbps ports. In the back here are two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
and four USB 3.2 Gen1. To conclude la B550 Aorus Master, a motherboard
with 16 phases (70A), one PCI 4.0 x16 slot and two other slots reached by a maximum
of four lines. present three M.2 slots for it
storage. Other features include five USB 3.2 Gen2 Tyep A and a USB 3.2 Gen2
Type C.
Recall that the new AM5 B550 chipset allows you to enjoy
PCI Express 4.0 connectivity for both NVMe storage and video cards in
pairing with a Ryzen 3000 CPU. The B550 chipset, in and of itself, does not put in
PCI 4.0 lines available, but unlike the previous B450 allows you to
access the 16 PCI Express 4.0 lines of the CPU, allowing you to prepare
single video or dual video card configurations, but also of
connect one NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD or two PCIe 4.0 x2 solutions.
Potentially, the B550 therefore supports two GPUs, both in CrossFire and SLI,
whereas previously only CrossFire was supported.
Another difference with the 400 series chipsets concerns the "general" lines
purpose ", which become PCIe 3.0 over the previous PCIe 2.0. Finally, here
support for USB 3.2 Gen 2, in conjunction with Ryzen 3000 CPUs. Finally,
good to know that the B550 motherboards will be perfectly compatible with the future
Ryzen 4000 processors based on Zen 3 architecture.
