Hackers hacked Binance began to withdraw stolen Bitcoins

As the latest data shows, hackers who hacked into the Binance cryptocurrency exchange two months ago began to exchange BTC for fiat currencies.

A new analysis of Coinfirm confirms another movement of bitcoins stolen from the Binance exchange. Hacking, the total damage of which is estimated at 7,000 BTC, occurred on May 7, 2019.

Now, Coinfirm has discovered some activity, which suggests that hackers withdraw stolen BTC from exchanges and exchange them for fiat currency. The first transaction occurred here, and other transfers followed. As a result, it became clear that the hacker began to exchange BTC on various exchanges.

“Analysis of one of the main chains used by hackers to separate stolen funds shows that they were able to withdraw at least 1.8087 BTC ($ 21,000) on several exchanges,” said Grant Blaisdell from Coinfirm.

Transactions occurred at the following sites:

  • Bitfinex: 0.7934 BTC
  • Binance: 0.4294 BTC
  • Bitmex: 0.0022 BTC
  • KuCoin: 0.0713 BTC
  • Kuna: 0.2482 BTC
  • Bitmarket: 0.2560 BTC
  • Crypterra: 0.0072 BTC
  • Bitcoin.de: 0.0007 BTC
  • WazirX: 0.0003 BTC

Apparently, the hackers moved a number of stolen BTC to the above listed exchanges. Then the bitcoins were either exchanged for fiat currencies, or they were still intact and waiting in the wings. Earlier this month have already been seen
moving about 10% of stolen coins. Then it was assumed that the criminals decided to make money on the growth rate of BTC.
