Let’s start with the fact that for overclocking you need to have a good power supply with a margin of at least 150 – 200 watts and a well-ventilated case, where there will be no troubles with cooling. You need to start with the fact that the card is slightly overclocked from the factory by 50 megahertz on the video chip (there is an OC prefix in the name, which means OverClocked), so we will not raise super high numbers. The frequencies usually need to be raised in the MSI Afterburner program, the program is free and you can easily find it on the Internet. We will also need OCCT. It’s also free. When all programs are downloaded, you can start. We immediately set +50 megahertz on the GPU, save, go and run the OCCT test, preferably for a long time, at least 30 minutes, since problems may not come out immediately, but after a long time, for example, I got errors at a high frequency already after 40 minutes of the test, so be careful. If there are no artifacts on the monitor, overheating (the critical temperature for our card is 85 degrees), OCCT errors, then add another 50 megahertz until one of the above problems appears.

When these problems appeared, we return the parameters to the previous successful value and set an intermediate value, for example, if the successful one was +100 megahertz, and the unsuccessful one was +150 megahertz, then we try to set +125 megahertz and so on.

Video memory overclocking.

In fact, everything is similar to overclocking a GPU, but as mentioned at the beginning, you shouldn’t overclock the video memory much (do not raise it above +1000 megahertz), otherwise the memory chips may simply burn out and have to be replaced. This is as bad as possible due to the fact that in the current situation in the service center you are most likely to be supplied with already faulty chips, in other words, to deceive you. Personally, I set + 800 MHz for video memory and have no problems. Now you can take a look at the frequencies that I raised
