Huawei P50E makes its debut. The cheaper version of the P50 is not that cheap at all …

The cheaper versions of the flagships usually sell very well, mainly because of the price. Manufacturers for a smaller amount offer a premium look with a more budget interior. Is this the case with the Huawei P50E?

The Huawei P50E went on sale in China – in theory, a mid-range smartphone, an ideal alternative for anyone who liked the P50, but does not want to spend so much money on it. In theory, because the manufacturer didn’t try hard to lower the price. But let’s start from the beginning, i.e. from the specification.

Huawei has equipped the P50E with a Snapdragon 778G processor in a variant with a 4G modem and this is actually the only element that distinguishes this model from the flagship. This means that there is a 6.5-inch OLED screen with 90 Hz refresh, a 4100 mAh battery with 66W charging and the same memory configuration – 8 GB RAM and 128 or 256 GB of built-in memory on board. It is also the same in terms of photographic possibilities. So it is difficult to talk about “slimming” the interior in favor of a lower price.

And in fact, if Chinese customers expected any significant cut, they must have been terribly disappointed. The Huawei P50E costs 4100 yuan (convert to US dollar) (about PLN 2730), which is only 400 yuan (convert to US dollar) (about PLN 270) less than the Huawei P50. The difference is therefore very small and few people will convince you to buy the “cheaper variant”.
