Someone converted a barcode scanner into a musical instrument

Handheld barcode readers have a coil inside which keeps the position of the laser diode constantly changing. This is what makes us hear this characteristic, high-tonally “beep” while scanning, but it is enough to change the format and size of the read barcodes to turn the typical “beep” into something much more interesting.
