Intel’s BMZ2 excavator lives up to the competition. We know the details of how Bitcoin “copies”

Although Intel’s ASIC bitcoin mining hardware is shrouded in a lot of mystery on the market compared to Bitmain or Bitfury works, today we got to know the details of how this Intel BMZ2 miner looks like. We learn from the application that was submitted to the US SEC committee.

According to an application in SEC, the Intel BMZ2 excavator, i.e. equipment with second-generation Bonanza Mine systems, has great potential

According to this information, the Intel BMZ2 excavator is able to dig with a power of 135 TH / s while maintaining efficiency at the level of 26 J / THs (via Tom’s Hardware). In addition, it is not by a few percent, and as much as half cheaper than the competing Bitmain S19 Pro hardware, and at the same time by a whole 15% more efficient. This means that, fortunately, the first-generation BMZ, which was not only disappointing with its performance, but also made fun (no wonder that it did not go on sale at all), was only late and underdeveloped equipment, and not an indication of Intel’s offer for a disaster.

Thus, Intel, as the first manufacturer of Bitcoin mining equipment in the US, can already open champagne, because it has entered another segment of the market that can provide it with a new source of income. Currently, the capabilities of the BMZ2 bend only against the Bitmain Antminer S19j XP, which is able to guarantee 140 TH / s with an efficiency of 21.5 J / TH. No wonder, because the work of Bitmain devours 3010 watts of power while Intel Bonanza Mine 2 whole 3510 watts.
