Is the Galaxy Z Fold3 really that durable?

On the occasion of the premiere of the new foldable Galaxy Z Fold3, Samsung revealed that it took care to increase the durability of the device. And not just any, because we are talking about a smartphone that is 80% more durable than its predecessor. But how much truth is there?

How durable is the Galaxy Z Fold3? The device was put through an extreme test

Improved housing, increased screen protection, water resistance. All this is to be offered by the new Samsung folder. But how is it really? Zack from the JerryRigEverything channel decided to check it out. looking at what it does with this smartphone, it is difficult to talk about the test, because the word “torture” is probably more appropriate here.

The scratch resistance of a screen covered with Gorilla Glass Victus has been checked. Both the external display and the camera protection did quite well. A slightly worse folding internal display, although it was predictable. Can the screen be damaged with a stylus? It turns out not, because Samsung has designed it to counteract the destruction of the screen. It is worse with the housing and the hinge cover, it is really easy to scratch, although here it should not surprise anyone.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 bravely endured bending attempts or contact with dust (it is worth remembering that the smartphone is not dustproof). Zack even tried to burn the device and here, surprisingly, the internal screen did better. You can see the entire extreme test here:

So it looks like Samsung has really gone to great lengths when it comes to improving the design of the new foldable smartphone. It is more durable, especially when it comes to screens and hinges. Whether it is as much as 80% is difficult to say, but rest assured that the device will survive most common accidents.
